My Approach to Therapy

A Space for You to Breathe and Embrace Your True Self

Life can get overwhelming, and sometimes it feels like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. Whether you're navigating the ups and downs of anxiety, adjusting to life after having a baby, or just trying to figure out your next step through a big life transition, I’m here to help you find your footing again.

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can just be.  In therapy, the most important thing is that you show up as you are. It’s easy to feel like you need to have everything together before you can ask for help, but that’s not how therapy works. I want you to feel free to be yourself—without filters, without perfection, and without fear of judgment. It’s through embracing your authentic self that we can start to make meaningful change.

We all wear different masks in life, whether it’s for work, family, or social expectations. But in therapy, you get to take those masks off. You get to be real. That’s where the healing happens. You don’t have to be “fixed” before we start working together. It’s about starting from where you are and being open to the process of growth and self-discovery.

I want you to feel comfortable and supported enough to explore the parts of yourself that may have been buried or ignored. Whether it's expressing your fears, hopes, or the struggles you're facing, I’ll be right there with you. You don’t have to pretend to be anyone other than yourself. In fact, the more real and honest you are, the more we can work through the challenges together.

Working Together, at Your Pace

You are the expert of your own life, and my job is to help you find clarity, understanding, and healing on your terms. In our work together, you’ll never feel rushed or pushed. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. This is your journey, and I’m here to guide and support you as you explore what’s going on and work toward meaningful change.

Tools That Work for You

I use a variety of approaches to therapy, but they’re all grounded in one thing: real-world tools and techniques that you can actually use in your everyday life. Whether it's managing anxiety, adjusting to your new role as a parent, or navigating a major life shift, we’ll work together to build skills that make a difference. We can explore your thoughts and the patterns that are keeping you stuck. Or sometimes, the best thing you can do is just breathe. I’ll teach you simple but effective mindfulness exercises that help you calm your mind and focus on the present moment. We can dive in and explore parts of you that remain hidden. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach but we can create a plan just for you.

Understanding You, Holistically

I believe in looking at the whole person—mind, body, and heart. Every part of your life influences how you feel and cope. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and how your body is reacting to stress and change. It’s all connected, and healing happens when we address it all.

Making Small Shifts, Big Impact

Change doesn’t need to be dramatic to be powerful. We’ll work on small, manageable shifts that will help you feel more in control and at ease. I want you to leave each session with practical takeaways that you can use right away—whether it's a new perspective, a coping tool, or just a moment of calm in your day.

The Power of Accountability

One of the most important aspects of therapy is creating real, lasting change, and part of that involves accountability. In our work together, I’ll help you set goals and create actionable steps to move forward. But you won’t be doing it alone—I’ll be there to check in, encourage you, and celebrate your progress along the way.

I believe that accountability helps keep you on track and motivated, especially when life gets busy or overwhelming. It’s so easy to fall back into old habits, but by setting clear goals and making small commitments, we’ll keep the momentum going. It’s not about “being perfect” or “getting it right every time”—it’s about showing up for yourself and taking small steps toward the life you want.

We’ll work together to break things down into manageable pieces, and I’ll be here to help you stay focused, even when things feel tough. That might include hard conversations, tears, and even laughter. If you’re ever struggling, I’m here to help you get back on track, adjust the plan if needed, and keep moving forward. You don’t have to do it alone!

Why You Might Like Working With Me

Authenticity

In my work, I believe it’s just as important for me to show up authentically as it is for you. You’ll always find me being genuine, real, and transparent in our sessions. I don’t have all the answers, and I’m not here to pretend that I do. My job is to guide you with empathy, honesty, and understanding. I want you to know that I’m not just the “professional” sitting across from you, I’m a real person too. I share in the human experience of challenges, growth, and the occasional misstep. I don’t have a perfect life, and I don’t expect you to either. When I bring my authentic self into the room, I hope it gives you the space to do the same. This mutual honesty helps build trust and a stronger connection between us, making our work together that much more effective.

I Get It

Life can feel heavy sometimes, and navigating anxiety, postpartum changes, or life transitions can leave you feeling lost or overwhelmed. I know what it’s like to face challenges that feel impossible to manage on your own such as grief, adjusting to being a new parent, and moving across the country (twice!). I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy and understanding, not judgment. My approach is centered on making sure you feel heard and supported, no matter what you're going through. You don’t have to go through this alone.

Real, Grounded Support

I don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions or giving you “one-size-fits-all” advice. My goal is to offer personalized support that meets you exactly where you’re at. Whether you're dealing with the anxiety that keeps you up at night, adjusting to the changes that come with parenthood, or trying to figure out how to navigate a new chapter in your life, we’ll work together to build a plan that makes sense for you. I’ll be there to offer practical tools, but also to help you tune into your own inner strength and wisdom.

I’m Here to Listen, Not to Fix

I don’t come into therapy with all the answers. What I do bring is a deep, compassionate willingness to listen. I know that sometimes, just having someone truly hear you can make all the difference. Whether you need to vent, process difficult feelings, or work through challenging thoughts, I’m here to hold space for you. And I promise that I’ll never rush you or make you feel like you need to “fix” yourself before we work together. Healing is a process, and I’m here to walk with you through each step.
