Meet Katelyn

Howdy! Welcome to my counseling practice where I encourage healing and growth through compassionate counseling. Whether you’re seeking individual therapy or couples counseling, I am here to candidly support you through your journey.

Counseling requires a lot of effort and can only be truly transformative if you show up as yourself; I will show up as myself too and that may include laughing, maybe some crying, and definitely some hard conversations.

Specialty Areas

Anxiety - Let’s face it, we are all plagued with anxiety at some time or another. However, for some of us it doesn’t seem to lighten up. We tend to hold the tension in our bodies and can’t slow the racing of our thoughts. Whether it be worry about work, unsteadiness in your personal relationships, navigating life changes, or low self-esteem, I can help. I hold advanced certification for anxiety treatment (Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional) that lends me a variety of specialized tools to explore and ultimately help calm your anxiety.

Perinatal/Postpartum Issues - I’m a mom and I’ve been there. The transition to motherhood can be a hard one… it even has its own term: ‘matrescence’. It’s a process-oriented term much like the term ‘adolescence’. Many new moms may find themselves searching to define their new identity, question their decisions, and perhaps rethink some long-held beliefs. It is truly a time of transformation. Relationships, especially those with our significant other, can change in ways that were not expected. I completed advanced training with Postpartum Support International and am passionate about helping women navigate this period of life. Let’s make a postpartum plan that works for you.

Trauma - Most of us have experienced some life-changing event or series of events overtime. Those tend to linger with us. Trauma is an emotional response. Many people internalize their feelings, turn to blame themselves, and struggle to find meaning. Trauma can manifest as physical symptoms or unhelpful thinking styles. You may find yourself avoiding certain things, always being on edge, or having intrusive thoughts. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist for Individuals through Trauma Institute International. I have skills to help you work through the lasting effects of trauma and master self-regulation.

Relationships - Relationships can be hard and require consistent fine-tuning. Perhaps the spark has dimmed, intimacy is infrequent, or disagreements are starting to become the norm. I help you explore the nine components of a healthy relationship and dive into areas that need healing.
